I faced similar trauma growing up. My parents hardly ever seemed to be happy with one another, dad was mostly gone with the Army, mom had deep emotional issues of her own, and a constant "war zone" threat of divorce from my parents at home. God is the only constant that never forsake me. It is my deep convictions for God that gives me any hope for each day. I long for the day that I can live the principles described in these blogs and reset the generational patterns from negative to positive; from evil to God.

You know, I have a friend who once sent her son (he is 18 now) when was about 4 to have his hearing checked. She was very concernced that because he was doing what she asked, that there was something wrong with his hearing. When they went to the audiologist, she got to sit in a room and watch the testing. She remembered, watching him sit there lifting one hand and then the other...smiling and waving at her as he thought this was fun. When the test was over, the Agent came out and said "Ma'am, I'm sorry, but there is nothing wrong with his hearing. He hears very well." I beleive she learned back then, Derek, what you are teaching right now. Thanks as I also was headed to the audiologist....
